The Face on The Finger Puppet

Anoushka was the first baby I carried in my arms, the first baby I bounced on my lap, the first baby I recited poetry to. Until I held Anoushka, I used to hate the thought of caring for babies, but that would all change...and I had Yadav.

For the face on The Finger Puppet, Anoushka's face seemed the perfect choice. Especially when I took this pic of her and Yadav in Austin. But I didn't want to hurt the feelings of my very many nieces, so I decided to draw a generic face on a blown-up image of my thumbprint. As it turned out, the face on The Finger Puppet still looks a lot like Anoushka :-)

Unlike the name Anouska sounds, she looks more of an american. Oh!!, stunningly expressive eyes.

Yadav looks roughly gentle.

Anoushka looks soooo different in every picture. Google, Anoushka Shankar, and you'll see her very many faces. As for my boy Yadav, he is indeed very gentle and won't hurt even a fly.

i loved the the cover of finger puppets.. in fact it was the cover that drew me towards the book which was stacked in a corner.. looking very ethnic and mystical

Thanks Bipasha...stacked in a corner, did you say??? I gave up eight years of my life...for India...to be atacked away in a corner???? Next time you walk into the store, oh please, please do ask them to give The Finger Puppet a bit more prominence :-)

Hey, Rima...you haven't seen my eyes, my dear. Which is why I keep them downcast...see?

For my kind of use -- word and some web surfing -- any horrid computer would have been OK. I liked the battery life for this one and its portability and price, of course. The keys and pad seem highly sensitive...got to play around with the settings.
